THE COMPLEXITIES OF THE CRIMINAL TRIAL PROCESS ARE DESCRIBED, INCLUDING PROSECUTION AND DEFENSE FUNCTIONS, PRELIMINARY PROCEEDINGS, PLEA BARGAINING, THE JURY, THE TRIAL ITSELF, AND SENTENCING DECISIONS.
