Abstract
UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO LAW STUDENTS, AS VOLUNTEERS, AND ONE PAID ADMINISTRATOR INSTITUTED THIS PROGRAM IN 1963. ALL OFFENDERS EXCEPT THOSE WITH DRUG OR SEX OFFENSES ARE INTERVIEWED IN PRIVATE. REFERENCES ARE OBTAINED AND CHECKED. RECOMMENDATIONS ARE MADE FOR RELEASE. THIS PROGRAM HAS A HIGH RATE OF ACCEPTANCE BY JUDGES. OTHER PROGRAM DATA ON CASES ARE INCLUDED.
