DESCRIPTION OF PROPER PROCEDURE TO BE FOLLOWED BY INVESTIGATORS OF OFFENSES INVOLVING BITE MARKS, WITH AN ACCOUNT OF SUCH A CASE IN WEST GERMANY.
Abstract
THE IMPORTANCE OF TAKING BOTH COLOR AND BLACK AND WHITE PHOTOGRAPHS AS SOON AS POSSIBLE IS STRESSED, SINCE THE MARKS TEND TO BECOME LESS PRONOUNCED WITH THE PASSAGE OF TIME. EFFORTS SHOULD ALSO BE MADE TO OBTAIN SAMPLES OF RESIDUAL SALIVA, FROM WHICH BLOOD GROUP INFORMATION CAN BE OBTAINED. INSTRUCTIONS ARE GIVEN FOR TAKING IMPRESSIONS OF BITE MARKS AND THE BITES OF SUSPECTS. ILLUSTRATIVE PHOTOGRAPHS ARE PROVIDED. --IN GERMAN
