This speaker's bureau press kit prepared by the Utah Council on Criminal Justice Administration contains materials pertaining to vandalism, especially vandalism in the schools.
Abstract
The materials are designed to aid local campaigns against vandalism. The packet includes a general report on vandalism in Utah. The report defines the types of vandalism, examines some of the causes which could lead to vandalism, and discusses programs designed to combat vandalism. This report also provides information on where to obtain additional material on vandalism. The kit also includes a school presentation aimed at getting students to think about the costs and consequences of acts of vandalism. A third item in the kit offers suggestions on what student leaders can do about vandalism. A questionnaire which can be used to assess a school's potential for vandalism and a list of 18 measures to combat vandalism in the schools are also included. A Vandalert package describes a neighborhood program which works against vandalism through neighborhood cooperation and suggests ways in which to involve neighborhood youth in vandalism prevention. A poster with the message is also included.
