The 1981 report discusses the state of crime and public order for the three components of the British Transport Police: the British Railways Board, the British Docks Board, and the London Transport Executive.
Abstract
During the year, 85,588 crimes were reported to the police, an increase of .26 percent from the 1980 total. Crimes included violent crimes, sexual offenses, property crimes, forgery and fraud, criminal damage, and endangering safety on railways. The number of robberies significantly rose from 544 to 705 in 1981. Data are also given on police strength, personnel and training, operations, and support services. Tables form the bulk of the report.
