Abstract
The danger traps most often noted by police include, inter alia, walking alone in high crime neighborhoods, standing near an exit door of an urban bus, taking shortcuts through alleys and parks, provoking street gangs, living in an unsecured home or apartment, passing through areas known for drug trafficking, and using alcohol or drugs. This book provides a brief criminal profile, discusses neighborhood crime prevention efforts, and outlines ways to crime-proof a personal residence or apartment. Suggestions for avoiding car theft, pickpockets, con-artists, and muggers are also provided as well as tips for senior citizens. 1 appendix
