This bulletin summarizes the volume and movement of offenders supervised by the Wisconsin Division of Corrections during 1981. Inmate populations surveyed include residents of correctional institutions and community residential centers, offenders supervised in the community under probation and parole, and absconders from probation and parole supervision.
Abstract
The total population under supervision increased by 4.9 percent, the institution population rose 10.3 percent, active field supervision cases increased 5.4 percent, and the number of absconders declined 7.1 percent during the year. The report includes 5-year trends for the major population groups as well as statistical tables presenting beginning and end-of-year counts, intake and separations during the year, and average daily populations. Most of the report consists of tables.
