RESULTS OF 1972 CALIFORNIA SURVEY REVEAL THAT 91 PERCENT OF ALL CALIFORNIA LAWYERS FAVOR THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROPOSED STATE-WIDE LEGAL SERVICES PROGRAM.
Abstract
THE PRINCIPAL PURPOSES OF THE PROGRAM ARE TO HELP PEOPLE COLLECTIVELY FINANCE LAWYERS' SERVICES THROUGH NOMINAL PERIODIC PAYMENTS AND TO MAKE DISTRIBUTIONS TO PARTICIPATING LAWYERS FOR SPECIFIED SERVICES TO MEMBERS AND DEPENDENTS WHO HAVE CONTRACTED WITH THE PROGRAM. THE PROGRAM WOULD BE DEVELOPED AND OPERATED BY A NONPROFIT CORPORATION WHOSE MEMBERS WOULD BE PARTICIPATING LAWYERS. ALL CALIFORNIA LAWYERS ARE ELIGIBLE TO PARTICIPATE IF CERTAIN SUGGESTED REQUIREMENTS ARE SATISFIED. AN ACCOMPANYING TABLE DEPICTS THE ATTITUDE OF CALIFORNIA LAWYERS TOWARD THE PROPOSED PROGRAM.
