THIS IS AN OUTLINE OF A SCHOOL CRIME PREVENTION PROJECT, CALLED PROJECT STOP, WHICH IS DESIGNED AS AN EDUCATIONAL TRAINING AID FOR SCHOOL CHILDREN.
Abstract
THE PROJECT IS INTENDED FOR USE BY SCHOOL DISTRICTS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES TO ENABLE THEM TO PRESENT CRIME PREVENTION INFORMATION ON THE FOLLOWING: BICYCLE SAFETY AND THEFT, VANDALISM, DRUG ABUSE, SHOPLIFTING, RESPECT FOR THE LAW, AND SCHOOL VIOLENCE. THESE PRESENTATIONS ARE AIMED AT FOURTH AND FIFTH GRADERS, AND THEY ALSO ILLUSTRATE SOME OF THE MECHANICS OF THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM.
