Abstract
Changes in campus life and attitudes during the 1960's and 1970's have resulted in corresponding changes in needed administrative approaches for law enforcement on campus. Changes have occurred in staffing the campus law enforcement agencies. An increasingly well-educated staff are trained as law enforcement services provided -- private, municipal, or institutional; on delineating personnel policies and procedures (i.e., orientation, basic, and in-service training programs); and on coordinating the law enforcement agency with other institutional agencies as well as off-campus agencies for effective law enforcement, emergency, and civil preparedness planning. Ensuring selection and training of the best qualified personnel for the campus law enforcement providing good crime prevention leadership and programs are additional goals.
