THE AUTHOR EXAMINES THE POSSIBLE RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN CERTAIN FINGERPRINT CHARACTERISTICS, SOCIAL AND MENTAL VARIABLES, AND THE COMMISSION OF CRIME.
Abstract
A BRIEF REVIEW OF STUDIES ON THE RELATIONSHIP OF CERTAIN CRIMES TO VARIOUS FINGERPRINT PATTERNS IS FIRST PROVIDED. THE AUTHOR ALSO PRESENTS THE RESULTS OF A STUDY WHICH SHOWED SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE FINGERPRINT PATTERNS OF PERSON WANTED BY THE FEDERAL BUREAU OF INVESTIGATION (FBI) FOR THE CRIMES OF RIOTING, MCB ACTION, AND DESTRUCTION OF GOVERNMENT PROPERTY AND THE FINGERPRINTS OF TWO OTHER GROUPS: THOSE PERSONS WANTED BY THE FBI FOR CRIMES OTHER THAN THOSE MENTIONED ABOVE AND CRIMINALS NOT WANTED BY THE FBI. SEVERAL RESEARCH QUESTIONS INVOLVING THE RELATIONSHIP OF SOCIAL, MENTAL, PHYSIOLOGICAL AND EMOTIONAL VARIABLES TO THE COMMISSION OF CRIME ARE PROPOSED.
