USE OF TELEVISION AS A PRACTICAL INSTRUMENT IN POLICE TRAINING, CRIMINAL PROSECUTION, SECURITY, AND SURVEILLANCE.
Abstract
TELEVISION EQUIPMENT IN LARGE POLICE DEPARTMENTS ALLOWS ADMINISTRATORS TO COMMUNICATE DIRECTLY WITH PERSONNEL AT DIFFERENT PRECINCTS. VIDEO TAPE CAN BE USED AS A EDUCATIONAL TOOL FOR PRE-RECORDING LECTURES AND FIELD TRAINING SEQUENCES. SINCE SURVEILLANCE CAN BE SUPERVISED BY A REMOTE MONITOR, A STAKE OUT IN ANTICIPATION OF A ROBBERY CAN BE IMPROVED BY TELEVISION RECORDING. ANY CASE IN WHICH FILM OR TAPE RECORDINGS MIGHT BE INTRODUCED AS EVIDENCE LENDS ITSELF TO USE OF TELEVISION.
