A THOROUGH DESCRIPTION AND AN ANALYSIS OF EVENTS THAT LED UP TO AND TOOK PLACE DURING A RIOT AT KINGSTON PENITENTIARY, ONTARIO.
Abstract
SIX HOSTAGES WERE TAKEN IN THE RIOTS, WHICH ORIGINATED AS THE RESULT OF INMATE GRIEVANCES AND INMATE ANXIETY OVER THE PROSPECT OF TRANSFERRING TO MILLHAVEN INSTITUTION, WHICH WAS DESIGNED TO BE KINGSTON'S REPLACEMENT. A NUMBER OF RECOMMENDATIONS IN THE AREAS OF CORRECTIONAL REFORM AND PRISON SECURITY ARE MADE TO ELIMINATE OR AMELIORATE FUTURE PRISON RIOT SITUATIONS.
