Abstract
The text is intended as a reference regarding the changes brought about by the January 1, 1988 amendments to Canada's Criminal Code and Evidence Act, as a guide to the steps that can be followed when interviewing and preparing children for court, and as an explanation of the Canadian criminal justice system's approach to victims of child sexual abuse. Individual chapters explain Canada's law, the criminal justice process, offense definitions, defenses, juvenile witnesses, interviews with suspected victims, trial preparation, and the traditional and new roles of the child protection worker.
