Abstract
THE FACTORS THAT ARE EXAMINED AS POSSIBLE INFLUENCES UPON PENITENTIARY ADMISSIONS AND POPULATION ARE POLICE APPREHENSION ACTIVITIES, SENTENCING VARIATIONS, RELEASE PATTERNS, AND TIME SERVED. THE METHODOLOGY AND RESULTS OF THESE SENSITIVITY TESTS ARE DISCUSSED FOLLOWED BY THE AUTHORS' CONCLUSIONS CONCERNING PENITENTIARY POPULATION PREDICTION.
