SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION FROM A FIELD TEST OF A CARGO SECURITY SYSTEM IS PRESENTED.
Abstract
THE MATERIALS CONSTITUTE AN APPENDIX TO THE FINAL FIELD TEST REPORT. TABULAR DATA FROM SURVEYS OF TRUCK DRIVERS AND LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS ARE PRESENTED. THE TRUCK DRIVERS HAD PARTICIPATED IN THE FIELD TEST AND THE LAW ENFORCEMENT PERSONNEL WERE FROM THE TEST AREA. BOTH WERE ASKED THEIR OPINIONS OF THE TESTED SYSTEM (E.G., WHETHER IT WOULD ENHANCE DRIVER SAFETY, REDUCE TRUCK HIJACKINGS AND CARGO THEFT, ETC.). AN OUTLINE OF THE COMPUTER PROGRAMS DEVELOPED TO PROCESS CARGO LOSS DATA DURING THE FIELD TEST IS PROVIDED, TOGETHER WITH COPIES OF THE INSTRUMENTS USED TO COLLECT FIELD TEST DATA. THE BULK OF THE DOCUMENT CONSISTS OF COMPUTER PRINTOUTS DOCUMENTING THE FIELD TEST SOFTWARE AND LISTING LOSS DATA IN RAW FORM. SEE NCJ-53734-53736 FOR THE MAIN STUDY. (LKM)
