Abstract
THIS BOOK IS DESIGNED TO IDENTIFY THE MAJOR POLICE ACTIVITIES AND ANALYZE THEM IN TERMS OF WHAT THE POLICE DID AND WHAT THEY COULD OR SHOULD HAVE DONE, AND PROVIDE A REFERENCE TO POLICE LITERATURE AT THE TIME. COVERED ARE THE POLICE PLANNING FOR THE DALLAS VISIT, GENERAL POLICE PROCEDURES (INCLUDING THE ARREST AND SECURITY OF LEE HARVEY OSWALD AND THE ATTEMPT TO TRANSFER OSWALD TO THE COUNTY JAIL), AND A CHRONOLOGY OF THE POLICE INVESTIGATION PROCEDURES AFTER THE SHOTS. THIS LAST CHAPTER DESCRIBES AND DISCUSSES THE SEARCH AT THE TEXAS BOOK DEPOSITORY, THE SEARCH FOR OSWALD'S PROPERTY, AND THE INTERROGATION OF LEE HARVEY OSWALD.
