In 1980, in Washington the courts of limited jurisdiction experienced dramatic increases in civil and criminal case filings, due to legislative and procedural changes. In all courts, criminal case filings increased greatly.
Abstract
The report discusses business transacted by the Washington courts in 1980, including an appraisal of the caseloads and a summary of activities of the supreme court, the court of appeals, the superior courts, and the courts of limited jurisdiction. Tables and graphs present data on filings, disposition of cases, trial activity, judicial workloads, and pending caseloads. Maps are included.
