Abstract
THE CASES SUMMARIZED ARE THOSE IN WHICH THE CIRCUMSTANCES AND FINDINGS BEAR SIGNIFICANTLY ON THE PERFORMANCE OF POLICE DUTIES. THE SUMMARIES ARE INTENDED TO HELP OFFICERS DETERMINE WHETHER A GIVEN ACT CONSTITUTES AN OFFENSE, WHICH OFFENSE IS INVOLVED, AND WHAT ACTION IS TO BE TAKEN. THE BOOK ALSO PROVIDES A BRIEF DISCOURSE ON THE NATURE OF CASE LAW AND THE PROBLEMS THAT ARISE WHEN POLICE OFFICERS IGNORE OR MISINTERPRET CASE LAW. THE CASE SUMMARIES ARE PRESENTED IN TWO SECTIONS: CRIMINAL AND ROAD LAW. WITHIN EACH SECTION, THE SUMMARIES ARE ARRANGED ALPHABETICALLY BY SUBJECT.
