Abstract
THIS REPORT DOCUMENTS THE WAYS THAT THE CENTRAL ALABAMA YOUTH SERVICE DEVELOPED AN ADMINISTRATIVE SYSTEM TO COORDINATE REGIONAL AGENCIES AND OTHER RESOURCES IN THE SERVICE OF YOUTH, PROVIDED QUALITY SERVICES TO JUVENILES REFERRED TO IT, AND SOUGHT CONSTRUCTIVE ALTERNATIVES TO THE JUVENILE JUSTICE SYSTEM. SERVICES AND PROGRAMS ADMINISTERED BY THE SERVICE INCLUDE PROBATION AND FIELD SERVICES, JUVENILE DETENTION SERVICES, AND INTERAGENCY COORDINATION AND TRAINING. THE COUNTIES SERVED ARE BUTLER, CHILTON, CONECUH, DALLAS, ELMORE, LOWNDES, MONROE, PERRY, AND WILCOX. VOLUMINOUS SUPPLEMENTARY ATTACHMENTS ARE APPENDED.
