Abstract
THE AUTHOR CONTENDS THAT 'AN ATTACK ON THE PROBLEMS OF YOUTH ATTITUDES TOWARD POLICE MUST BE FOCUSSED ON THE JUNIOR HIGH STUDENT', THEREFORE, THIS BOOK CONCENTRATES ON THE EARLY ADOLESCENT AGE. CHAPTERS DEAL WITH SUCH TOPICS AS THE MEASUREMENT OF ATTITUDES, THE ATP (ATTITUDE -TOWARD-POLICE) SCALE AND THE ROLE OF THE SCHOOL IN INFLUENCING ATTITUDES THROUGH THE SCHOOL ASSEMBLY, THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER PROGRAM, AND THE DESIGN AND DEVELOPMENT OF CURRICULUM UNITS TO CHANGE ATTITUDES. THE CINCINNATI POLICE-JUVENILE ATTITUDE PROJECT, A MODEL PROGRAM FOR CHANGING EARLY ADOLESCENT ATTITUDES TOWARD LAW AND LAW ENFORCEMENT, IS INCLUDED WITH CURRICULUM UNITS, AND AN EVALUATION.
