THIS ARTICLE OUTLINES THE CONDITIONS THAT PERSUADED THE MULTNOMAH COUNTY DIVISION OF PUBLIC SAFETY TO ADOPT NEIGHBORHOOD TEAM POLICING.
Abstract
THE REASONS FOR CHOOSING THE FULL SERVICE MODEL AS THE MOST APPROPRIATE TO MEET THE LAW ENFORCEMENT NEEDS OF THIS MIXED URBAN AND RURAL JURISDICTION ARE ALSO DISCUSSED. IT IS EXPECTED THAT IMPROVED RELATIONS WITH THE COMMUNITY, GREATER OFFICER CONCERN ABOUT THE PROBLEMS OF HIS TEAM AREA, GREATER JOB SATISFACTION FOR THE OFFICERS, IMPROVED MANAGEMENT ABILITIES, AND IMPROVED CRIME CONTROL WILL RESULT. FOR PARTS I AND III OF THIS SERIES OF ARTICLES, SEE NCJ-32838 AND 34755.
