REPORT OFFERS A REVIEW OF THE COUNTY'S CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM AND PROPOSES STAFF AND PROGRAMS TO ROUND OUT THE OPERATION.
Abstract
THE STAFF POSITIONS PROPOSED INCLUDE TWO FAMILY COURT INTAKE SCREENERS, TWO MISDEMEANOR DIVERSION SCREENERS, A WORK RELEASE JOB DEVELOPMENT COORDINATOR, A RECREATIONAL/ EDUCATIONAL DIRECTOR, A COORDINATOR OF VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS, AND STENOGRAPHERS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR THEM. THE STUDY ALSO PROPOSES THAT SPECIALIZED SHERIFF/ MUNICIPAL POLICE CRIMINAL INVESTIGATING SQUADS BE ESTABLISHED IN NARCOTICS, BURGLARY, AUTO THEFT, VIOLENT ROBBERS, HOMICIDE, AND ORGANIZED CRIME. THE REPORT ALSO CALLS FOR THE ESTABLISHMENT OF CENTRALIZED CRIMINAL JUSTICE RECORDS AND REPORTING, AND ADEQUATE CRIME LABORATORIES....BS
