CHILD VICTIM STUDY CALLS FOR FORMULATION OF PROPOSALS AND RECOMMENDATIONS RELATING TO CREATION OF NEW AND EXPANDED PROTECTIVE SERVICES FOR CHILDREN AND THEIR FAMILIES.
Abstract
MOST SEXUAL CRIMES AGAINST CHILDREN OCCUR IN THE FAMILY CONTEXT, IN THE CHILD'S NEIGHBORHOOD, SCHOOL, AND PLAY AREA. MUCH OF THE ATTENTION TO PROBLEMS OF TREATMENT IN THE AREA OF SEX CRIME HAS EMPHASIZED THE CORRECTIONAL TREATMENT OF THE SEX OFFENDER RATHER THAN HELPING THE SEX VICTIM. BOTH THE PRIMARY PREVENTION OF SEX CRIMES AND THE TREATMENT OF OFFENDER AND VICTIM REQUIRE FAMILY TREATMENT CONCEPTS, FACILITIES, AND PROCEDURES.
