Abstract
The statewide system of CAC's is governed by the Children's Advocacy Centers of Texas, Inc., under the Office of the Attorney General. This State-level organization provides training, technical assistance, and evaluation services for local CAC programs. The State standards for local CAC's require that they assess victims of child abuse and their families to determine their need for services in relation to the investigation of child abuse; that they provide needed services; that they provide a facility at which the multidisciplinary team can meet to facilitate the efficient and appropriate disposition of the abused child; and that they coordinate the activities of governmental entities in relation to child abuse investigations and delivery of services to child abuse victims and their non-offending family members. For each of the CAC's in the State, this 2003-2004 directory provides its name, address, and the name of the executive director. The information format for each CAC is as follows: general information (scope of jurisdiction, average number of children receiving services and their ages, community characteristics, date of creation, IRS status, and incorporated status); case criteria; interagency partners; interagency partners providing funding; interagency partners and number of staff housed at the center; program components/services; additional services provided; facility information; center staff positions and time staffed; additional funding sources; annual budget; and mission statement.
