This report presents tables and charts of statistics pertinent to the operation of Victoria's Children's Court (Australia) for 1993.
Abstract
One graph shows the initiating agency and child's age for completed protection applications, followed by another graph that provides the same information for completed applications processed in cases that involved irreconcilable differences. Statistics for the court's Criminal Division report the number of children charged. Elapsed times by number of adjournments are shown in another table. Results are presented for Family Division matters heard and Criminal Division dispositions, followed by a chart that indicates results by child's sex and age for completed applications for protection and irreconcilable differences. A table also presents results by the child's age and gender for completed criminal matters. Remaining tables address the principal offense type by result for criminal cases heard, the aforementioned information by age at final hearing, and an analysis of grounds for protection applications. The appendixes contain selected Victorian legislation and regulations in act number order and in alphabetical order with act number, codes for return of completed business in the Children's Court, and act and section reference standards.
