COLLECTION OF FIVE SHORT PAPERS WHICH EXAMINE BIOLOGICAL INFLUENCES ON CRIMINAL AND AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR IN MAN AND ANIMALS AND THEIR RAMIFICATIONS FOR CORRECTIONAL TREATMENT.
Abstract
RESEARCH ON THE FREQUENCY OF XXY AND XYY CHROMOSOME CONFIGURATIONS IN CRIMINAL OFFENDERS AND THE RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN OTHER PHYSIOLOGICAL FACTORS AND AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR ARE OUTLINED. RESULTS OF THESE INVESTIGATIONS ARE THEN APPLIED IN DISCUSSIONS ON THE USE OF CHEMOTHERAPY TO TREAT MENTALLY ILL OFFENDERS, THE CONTROL OF PROBLEM INMATES WITH TRANQUILIZERS, AND THE USE OF PSYCHOTROPIC SUBSTANCES TO CORRECT OR POSSIBLY PREVENT PERSONALITY DISORDERS CONTRIBUTING TO CRIMINAL BEHAVIOR. THE LAST PAPER EXPLORES THE USE OF CHEMOTHERAPY AS A METHOD OF TREATMENT FOR INMATES, SUSPECTS AWAITING TRIAL, AND OFFENDERS ON PROBATION OR PAROLE. --IN FRENCH...ELW
