BUCKS COUNTY, PA., PROGRAMS IN WHICH CITIZEN ASSOCIATIONS AND INDIVIDUAL VOLUNTEERS AID INMATES WITH THEIR PROBLEMS AND PROVIDE THE PRISON WITH REHABILITATIVE SERVICES.
Abstract
A CITIZEN'S COMMITTEE KEEPS THE COMMUNITY INFORMED ABOUT THE INSTITUTION AND ASSISTS THE PRISON WITH A NUMBER OF ITS PROGRAMS. MEMBERS OF ALCOHOLICS ANONYMOUS REGULARLY VISIT THE PRISON TO HELP INMATES WITH DRINKING PROBLEMS. VOLUNTEER TEACHERS AND COUNSELORS ARE ASSIGNED TO REMEDIAL PROGRAMS FOR THE PRISONERS. RELIGIOUS SERVICES AND WORK RELEASE ARE ALSO PROVIDED TO THE PRISON THROUGH COMMUNITY RESOURCES.
