The report describes the 1981 projects of the Rockford Police Department (Illinois) discusses the activities of the Department's administrative, detective, patrol, traffic, and youth and community services bureaus; and presents crime and traffic statistics for 1981.
Abstract
The Department experienced success with its Crime Stoppers Programs, which invites calls from citizens who have witnessed or have some information about a crime and then rewards these persons. The Metro Center project, which involved deploying police officers outside the building to help with traffic and parking enforcement, was also begun successfully. More arrests were made and citations issued during 1981 than in the previous year, and the number of calls-for-service also increased. An organizational chart, data tables, and an outline of 1982 goals are included.
