THIS REPORT, DATED SEPTEMBER 1976, EVALUATES THE COURT CASEFLOW PROCESS, IDENTIFIES DELAYS IN THE SYSTEM, AND DEVELOPS ALTERNATIVES FOR IMPROVEMENT.
Abstract
THE FIRST SECTION SUMMARIZES FINDINGS FROM THE STUDY WITH REGARD TO THE SEPARATE COMPONENTS OPERATING WITHIN THE EIGHTH JUDICIAL COURT AND SOME OF THE RELATED AREAS VITAL TO THE PROCESSING OF CASES. THE NEXT SECTION DISCUSSES THOSE PROCESSING AREAS THAT APPEAR TO BE SUFFERING FROM, OR ADDING TO, THE DELAY IN THE COURT PROCESSING SYSTEM. THE FINAL SECTION IS CONCERNED WITH THE ALTERNATIVE TYPES OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS THAT EXIST OR ARE BEING DEVELOPED BY THE COUNTY, WHICH MAY BE APPLICABLE TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF A COURT MANAGEMENT INFORMATION SYSTEM.
