This report provides statistical data on attributes of offenders, their admission to and release from prison, and on custody distributions and classification of offenders in the State of Washington’s Pre-Release and Work Release Program for the fiscal year of 2002 as of September 30, 2001.
Abstract
The report is divided into six sections. The first section provides data tables pertaining to the population within the adult correctional institutions and pre-release and work release programs. Issues include daily and monthly population as well as the capacity regarding the types of facilities. The second section addresses attributes and demographic characteristics of residential inmates along with those who participated in pre-release and work release programs in terms of location and offense. Section three focuses on the data of prison admissions, while section four centers on issues of release and length of stay. Custody classifications of residents are discussed in section five. The last section analyzes the issue of risk level groups. Other issues include distribution of inmates by location, race and sex. 34 tables, 2 charts
