A SOVIET JURIST EXPLAINS MARXIST-LENINIST CONCEPTS ABOUT CRIME PREVENTION, AND OUTLINES THE FUNCTIONS OF SEVERAL PUBLIC ORGANIZATIONS WHICH PERFORM LAW ENFORCEMENT TASKS.
Abstract
SEVERAL COMMISSIONS HAVE BEEN ESTABLISHED IN BYELORUSSIA, A REPUBLIC WITHIN THE USSR, TO INVOLVE THE PUBLIC IN CRIME PREVENTION AND TO AID THE OFFICIAL LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES. THE COMMISSION ON JUVENILE AFFAIRS IS CHARGED WITH ORGANIZATIONAL WORK FOR THE PREVENTION OF CHILD NEGLECT, THE PROTECTION OF THE RIGHTS OF MINORS, AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY PREVENTION. TWO OTHER ORGANIZATIONS, THE COMRADESHIP COURTS AND VOLUNTEER PEOPLE'S COMMUNES, ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR THE DISPOSITION OF MINOR CRIMES AND THE PRESERVATION OF ORDER IN PUBLIC PLACES.
