Length

This report examines a guide for victims that explains their rights under the Code of Practice for Victims of Crime in England.
Abstract
This guide explains what each criminal justice agency can do for victims, how a victim can make a complaint against an agency, and how to decline services, and the role of the police. The guide states that the police will give or instruct the victim on where to get the Victims of Crime leaflet, keep the victim updated on a monthly basis until the case is closed, and inform the victims of any decisions to charge or not to charge a suspect. The guide continues through the evidence collection process, covers the courtroom process, and continues through to the probation and parole process.
