This article analyzes collective victimization -- a form of harm which is applied collectively or indiscriminately to a plurality of subjects.
Abstract
It deals primarily with collective victimization caused by legally established and socially accepted power. The main areas to be examined in detail are: white collar crimes, foodstuff offenses, accidents at work, and exploitation of young workers. Victimization by science and technology and through the exercise of family power will also be addressed. Recommendations for prevention are also outlined along with a call for the utilization of a diagnostic preventive and reparative planning scheme. (Author abstract)
