This 1993 annual report of the Columbus Division of Police presents information and statistics on organizational structure, the operations of the subdivisions, significant achievements, personnel, offenses, and arrests.
Abstract
Subdivision reports encompass the Executive Subdivision, the Administrative Subdivision, the Patrol Subdivision, the Investigative Subdivision, and the Support Operations Subdivision. A review of the year's major achievements focuses on the Canine Unit, the Citizen Police Academy, the Automated Identification Management System, cultural sensitivity training, management of a Ku Klux Klan rally, and expanded fingerprinting. Other significant achievements described are the implementation of the field force concept, the formation of two Street Crime Attack Teams, and the purchase of a Luma-Lite 2000A for forensic work. Information on personnel addresses retirements, promotions, personnel status, awards, and complaints and compliments. A financial statement is followed by statistics on criminal offenses, traffic offenses, and arrests. These statistics encompass a 10-year period. Columbus' crime statistics are compared with those of Ohio's three other largest cities.
