This report presents an overview of activities within the Columbus, Ohio, Division of Police for the year 2004.
Abstract
The city of Columbus, OH, covers more than 224 square miles and extends into three counties, Franklin, Delaware, and Fairfield. In addition, the city is divided into 19 precincts. In 2004, officers for the Columbus Division of Police responded to 1,112,686 calls for service, in addition to coordinating and staffing numerous events. For the year 2004, 62,707 Uniform Crime Index offenses were reported which included: murder, rape, robbery, aggravated assault, burglary, theft/larceny, vehicle theft, and arson. The year 2004 also brought the opening of a new training academy for law enforcement enhancing the ability to provide professional services. This 2004 annual report, presented by the Columbus Division of Police presents comprehensive information on the activities within the Division for the year 2004. Information is provided on each subdivision of the agency including; administrative, investigative, patrol east, patrol west, and support services. In addition, information is provided on staff/personnel, budgetary/financial, and crime and arrest statistics. Tables
