These guidelines give specific instructions for use by United States military and government employees to increase their personal security and reduce their vulnerability to terrorism both in the United States and in foreign countries.
Abstract
A general security checklist covers the need to vary daily routines, to use care in dealing with strangers, and to report suspicious persons. Specific instructions explain (1) security measures for the employee and family members and (2) steps to take to increase security while using a vehicle. They also recommend measures for residential security, telephone and mail security, security during air travel or use of commercial transportation, and security when taken hostage. The Department of Defense code of conduct for military personnel subject to terrorist activity is included.
