This State Association Manual provides the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America’s (CADCA) State Association vision, models, roles, and benefits.
Abstract
The goal of the manual is to provide clear guidance and leadership for CADCA State Associations across the country. The CADCA State Association connects grassroots coalitions with the national organization. Since each State is unique, the manual provides typical organization models that have been commonly utilized for CADCA State Associations. The vision of State Associations is clearly explained, as are four main models of CADCA State Associations: the Governor’s Office model, the Single State Agency model, the Provider Associations model, and the Coordinating Councils model. The main roles of CADCA State Associations are described as training, education, and coalition development and growth. Coalition, State, and national benefits are explained. A step-by-step explanation for approaching State leadership about developing a CADCA State Association is provided. Finally, a listing is offered of the current CADCA State Associations.
