Abstract
THE SERIES WILL BE CONCERNED WITH, BUT NOT NECESSARILY LIMITED TO, A CONSIDERATION OF THE RATES AT WHICH PROGRAM CLIENTS ARE BEING RE-ARRESTED, WITH THE TYPES OF OFFENDERS BEING RE-ARRESTED, AND WITH THE IMPACT OF NEW CHARGES AGANST THEM. IN THIS FIRST REPORT, DATA ARE PRESENTED ON CRIMES CHARGED TO ADULT PROBATIONERS AND PAROLEES (COURT SERVICES AND STATE) AND CLIENTS OF PRETRIAL SERVICES AND RESIDENTIAL CORRECTIONS PROGRAMS UNDER THE JURISDICTION OF LOCAL COURT SERVICES PROJECTS. INFORMATION ON RE-ARREST RATES IS REPRESENTATIVE OF A HIGH PERCENTAGE OF THE INDIVIDUALS TERMINATING THE PROGRAMS MENTIONED ABOVE FROM JANUARY 1, 1974 TO JUNE 30, 1975. IN ADDITION, ESTIMATES ARE PROVIDED OF THE TOTAL NUMBER OF INDEX CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST PROGRAM CLIENTS DURING 1974 AND THE EXTENT TO WHICH THESE NEW CHARGES ARE REPRESENTED AMONG TOTAL INDEX CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST ADULTS IN THE JURISDICTION OF THE PROGRAM.
