Abstract
The Bulletin's section on "In the News" presents eight summarized descriptions of ways in which law enforcement agencies in various jurisdictions have addressed crime. Online access is provided to expanded descriptions of each case. The activities described pertain to police rules on dealing with mass crowds, the role of correctional facilities in treating inmates with a mental illness, a voluntary registry for property owners who have installed cameras with a view of a public right-of-way, a focus on environmental crime prevention, and new measures to counter a spike in violent crime. The bulletin's section on "Announcements" reports on various grant programs seeking applicants. The profiled grant programs address community policing development, research and evaluation of crime victims, opioid affected youth, and community-based crime prevention. The Bulletin's section on "Upcoming Events" describes the 2020 Forum on Criminal Justice (October 2020). The section on "Upcoming Webinars" pertains to community coordinated responses (March 2020) and fostering partnerships and collaborations across the Sequential Intercept Model (SIM). Online learning courses described pertain to what applicants should consider in the federal funding process, research partnerships in sites involved in the CBCR initiative, and strategic communications for public safety initiatives.
