BRIEF HISTORY OF THE FIELD ACCOMPANIED BY A PARALLEL HISTORY OF AMERICAN PAINTING AND A REVIEW OF CURRENT RESEARCH ACTIVITIES, ORGANIZATIONS, AND MATERIALS.
Abstract
THE DEVELOPMENT OF AMERICAN COMPARATIVE CRIMINAL LAW IS VIEWED TOGETHER WITH THAT OF AMERICAN PAINTING TO SHOW THE ESSENTIAL UNITY OF ALL CULTURAL ACTIVITY. DESPITE THEIR DIVERSE NATURE, BOTH FIELDS ARE SEEN TO REFLECT A SIMILAR SPIRIT AND MENTALITY IN EACH OF NINE MAJOR HISTORICAL ERAS OF AMERICAN HISTORY FROM THE SEVENTEENTH CENTURY TO THE PRESENT. AMONG THE SOURCES AND MATERIALS REVIEWED ARE FOREIGN PENAL CODES, TREATISES, CASEBOOKS, BIBLIOGRAPHIES, PERIODICALS, AND CURRENT LITERATURE.
