ANALYSIS OF A STUDY WHICH SHOWS A STATISTICALLY SIGNIFICANT INTERACTION BETWEEN PERSONALITY TYPE AND TYPE OF OUTPATIENT SUPERVISORY SYSTEMS ON 'SUCCESS RATE' IN POST-INSTITUTIONALIZED NARCOTIC ADDICTS.
Abstract
THE STUDY COMPARED 190 FEDERAL PRISONER OPIATE ADDICTS ON PROBATION AND IN A CORRECTIONS-ORIENTED OUTPATIENT PROGRAM TO 289 CIVILLY COMMITTED OPIATE ADDICTS SENT TO A HOSPITAL UNDER THE NARCOTIC ADDICT REHABILITATION ACT AND OBLIGATED TO 36 MONTHS IN AFTERCARE IN A MENTAL HEALTH-ORIENTED PROGRAM. UNINTERRUPTED CONTINUATION IN OUTPATIENT TREATMENT WAS USED AS THE CRITERION FOR POSTINSTITUTIONAL SUCCESS.
