This book describes the successful application of computer programing to the operations of Bell Security, Inc., a private guard-dispatching operation.
Abstract
In addition to researching the use of computers as business tools, the discussion explores all aspects of the security industry, including marketing, sales, recruiting, and dispatching. To familiarize the reader with the multiple phases of security operations, the discussion details the nature and history of the private security business up to and including the introduction of electronic equipment. Beginning with a practical overview of computer use, the book then describes various available computer programs and the advantages of each. One of the programs is presented in its entirety. A step-by-step description of the programs currently used at Bell Security shows various options and explains the reasons for the particular choices made regarding language, machine, and method. The use of computers in the dispatching operation is examined in detail, and their future use in sales and billing operations is briefly projected. A subject index is provided.
