Abstract
At the Workshop on International Cooperation and Assistance in the Management of the Criminal Justice System, two papers addressed changes in computerization and the policy use of criminal justice information, as well as the management of the criminal justice system. Two papers focused on the coordination of the introduction of computerization in the criminal justice system; descriptions of computerization of the criminal justice systems of England and Wales and the Netherlands were provided in these two papers. Other workshop papers covered computer crime, data protection in the automated processing of personal data, the use of criminal justice information in management and policy formulation, and communications and the exchange of information. Statements by National Delegations are also included in this book, along with the report of the chairman of Committee I of the Ninth United Nations Congress on the Workshop. Papers from the Symposium on Computerization of Criminal Justice Information pertain to issues in system development within criminal justice, integrated criminal justice systems, law enforcement, prosecution, courts, corrections, applications of information technology in the justice agencies of England and Wales, information retrieval, and computer crime.
