DISCUSSION OF THE ADVANTAGES AND PROBLEMS OF CENTRAL STATION ALARM SYSTEMS.
Abstract
A CENTRAL STATION SYSTEM DETECTS UNLAWFUL INTRUSION AND TRANSMITS THE ALARM SIGNAL BY LEASED TELEPHONE WIRES TO A CONSTANTLY MANNED COMMERCIAL CENTRAL STATION FROM WHICH ARMED GUARDS ARE THEN DISPATCHED TO AID POLICE OR FIRE FORCES AND TO REPRESENT THE CUSTOMER'S INTERESTS. THE ARTICLE EXAMINES ALTERNATIVES TO USING A SEPARATE SET OF LEASED TELEPHONE LINES FOR THE ALARM SYSTEM.
