DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT DESIGNED TO DEFINE THE CURRENT STATUS OF, AND TO PROVIDE THE FUTURE DIRECTION FOR AUTOMATED INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN CALIFORNIA'S TRIAL COURTS.
Abstract
THE ARTICLE BEGINS WITH A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROJECT'S OBJECTIVES AS WELL AS THE DESIGN APPROACH. SPECIFIC DESIGN CHARACTERISTICS ARE DISCUSSED IN TERMS OF THEIR IMPACT ON COURT ORGANIZATION AND ADMINISTRATION, JUDICIAL SUPPORT, INFORMATION INTERCHANGE WITH OUTSIDE AGENCIES, AND CLERICAL PROCEDURES. THE RESULTS OF A COST-BENEFIT ANALYSIS ARE OUTLINED.
