THE PURPOSE OF THIS PAPER IS TO PRESENT A SYNTHESIS AND ANALYSIS OF THE FIELD EVALUATIVE RESEARCH WHICH WILL SERVE AS A GUDE TO STAFF MEMBERS IN THE OFFICE OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PLANS AND ANALYSIS.
Abstract
THIS PAPER IS DESIGNED AS A GUIDE FOR DEVELOPING AN IMPLEMENTING A PLAN FOR THE EVALUATION OF CRIMINAL JUSTICE PROGRAMS AS REQUIRED BY LEAA AND FOR UNDERTAKING STUDIES TO DETERMINE THE EFFICACY OF THE PROGRAMS FUNDED BY THIS OFFICE. THE FOLLOWING TOPICS ARE CONSIDERED: CONCEPTS AND ISSUES IN EVALUATIVE RESEARCH AND SOCIAL PROGRAMMING; ISSUES AND PROBLEMS IN THE METHODOLOGY OF MEASUREMENT AND DESIGN OF EVALUATIVE RESEARCH; AND PROBLEMS IN EVALUATING INTERVENTION PROGRAMS IN SOCIAL ACTION AGENCIES. A LIST OF REFERENCES IS ALSO INCLUDED.
