Abstract
TOPICS FROM THE 1967 CONFERENCE INCLUDED A DISCUSSION OF THE PRESIDENT'S COMMISSION ON LAW ENFORCEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION OF JUSTICE, AS WELL AS COMMENTS ON THE SAFE STREETS AND CRIME CONTROL ACT OF 1967. THE CONFERENCE POINTED OUT THE NEED FOR BETTER COMMUNICATION AMONG CONFERENCE MEMBERS AND BETWEEN RESEARCH CENTERS. FORMAL AND INFORMAL EXCHANGE SUGGESTIONS INCLUDED THE PREPARATION OF RESEARCH BULLETINS AND THE ESTABLISHMENT OF SCHOLAR EXCHANGE PROGRAMS. CURRENT AND PLANNED RESEARCH PROJECTS WERE REPORTED AND FREEDOM OF PUBLICATION ON THE PART OF RESEARCHERS WAS DISCUSSED. MENTION WAS MADE OF THE NEED FOR A REVIEW COMMITTEE ON CONTROVERSIAL ISSUES IN CRIMINOLOGY. THE MEETING INCLUDED CONSIDERATIONS FOR FUTURE CONFERENCE POLICY AND PARTICIPANTS.
