PROCEEDINGS OF THE FIRST STATEWIDE CONFERENCE DEVOTED TO THE ENHANCEMENT OF COOPERATION BETWEEN VOLUNTEERS AND THE CRIMINAL JUSTICE SYSTEM, HELD IN FRESNO ON APRIL 17-19, 1974.
Abstract
THE 355 CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS INCLUDED VOLUNTEERS, CRIMINAL JUSTICE AND RELATED AGENCY STAFF, AND CLIENTS OF THE SYSTEM. THE CONFERENCE FOCUSED PRIMARILY ON SEVEN SUBJECT AREAS RELATIVE TO THE EFFICIENT AND EFFECTIVE FUNCTIONING OF CORRECTIONAL VOLUNTEER PROGRAMS: VOLUNTEER PATRICIPATION, COMMUNICATIONS BARRIERS, VOLUNTEERS, EVALUATION, THE EFFECTS OF THE ENERGY CRISIS, AND INVOLVING THE TOTAL COMMUNITY. THESE SUBJECT AREAS SERVED AS WORKSHOP TOPICS. THIS REPORT ALSO DISCUSSES THE BACKGROUND, PREPARATION, ORGANIZATION, IMPLEMENTATION, AND EVALUATION OF THIS CONFERENCE. STATISTICAL RESULTS ON PARTICIPANTS' RESPONSES TO CONFERENCE EVALUATION FORMS, A SAMPLE EVALUATION FORM, AND LIST OF CONFERENCE PARTICIPANTS ARE INCLUDED.
