Abstract
CIVIL ACTIONS MAY BE SUPERIOR TO CRIMINAL ACTIONS IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS: A SINGLE ACTION AGAINST MULTIPLE DEFENDANTS, DISCOVERY, PENALTIES, VICTIM NOT NECESSARY, RESTITUTION, ENFORCEMENT, ELEMENTS OF PROOF, TYPE OF TRIAL, CIVIL REMEDY IS NOT EXCLUSIVE, RESTRAINING ORDERS AND PRELIMINARY INJUNCTIONS, STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS, AND VARIABILITY. A CRIMINAL ACTION IS MORE SUITABLE WERE IT NECESSARY TO SEND A PERSON TO JAIL IN ORDER TO PROTECT THE PUBLIC.
